Position description:

Calico is inviting applications from lab support technologists who are excited to work as part of a team focused serving the daily activities of the research scientists. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented person who will work in the centralized autoclave and glass wash facility. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning, sterilizing, and stocking glassware
  • Sterilizing lab consumables and supplies
  • Collecting and sterilizing biological waste
  • Routine maintenance and upkeep of glassware washers and autoclaves
  • Ordering and stocking lab consumables
  • Supporting the research laboratory by helping with general setup, maintenance, and other tasks as needed

Position requirements:

A high school diploma is required, and either an associates degree in a relevant discipline or at least two years experience in a working laboratory is preferred. Familiarity with basic word processing and spreadsheet software is required. You need to be an enthusiastic team player, thrive on attention to detail and have excellent organizational skills.

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • Assist in maintaining strain collections and cell lines, including organizing freezer stocks and spreadsheets
  • Ordering and stocking lab consumables
